With the arrest of two people, the police here on Thursday claimed to have solved three burglary cases in which the accused committed thefts and then extorted money from the victims using the stolen goods as leverage.

According to them, incidents of burglary were reported in Tehkhand village, Okhla Phase-I, in which the burglars told the victims to transfer money to them through digital payment platforms if they wanted to get their things back.

Police analysed call detail records of the phone number associated with the account of one of the accused and traced his location to Nangli Dairy, Najafgarh, a senior officer said.

CCTV footage from the area where the burglaries took place was also analysed and one of the suspects was identified as Nirmal Pandey, who used to live in Tehkhand village last year, the officer said.
