The decision is expected to bring major relief to commuters from Khajuri, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar, Sonia Vihar, Pushta, Karawal Nagar, Ghonda and Gokulpur. Buses on routes, including 121, 165, 212, 229, 234, 235, 248, 259, 261, 333 and 971 will now ply via the flyover. Services on the routes 208A, 210, 227A, 253 and 973 will continue as usual.

Transport officials clarified that there would be no changes to bus stops or fare stages. North-East Delhi Parliamentary Constituency in-charge, Minister Kapil Mishra, who had been pushing for the change, said, “Traffic congestion at Khajuri Chowk has troubled residents for years. This step by our government and the DTC will provide immediate relief.”
