A police team reached the spot to control the situation. Expressing anger over mismanagement, the candidates had to return home.

According to the police, more than 1,400 candidates were to sit the exam, over three shifts at the centre, but it could not be held due to problems with the server. “The exam has been cancelled due to technical problems with the SSC server. Though it started working after the first shift, the angry candidates didn’t let the organisers go ahead with the second shift,” Centre Head Manoj Gupta said.

A senior police officer said that no complaint was made by the school management.
