Rai visited the Kalibari Mata temple in Chitranjan Park before filing her nomination. Expressing gratitude to her supporters, Rai said, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all workers who have placed their trust in me. BJP workers tirelessly dedicate themselves to serving the people and addressing their concerns. Today, they are enthusiastic about continuing their service to society and ensuring the party’s victory on February 5.”
In Sangam Vihar, BJP candidate Chandan Kumar Choudhary also filed his nomination and thanked the party for selecting him as a candidate. “In Sangam Vihar, 60 per cent of the population is from Purvanchal. The party has placed its trust in me by making me a candidate, and I will ensure to work for their betterment,” he stated.
Meanwhile, BJP candidate Gajendra Yadav, contesting from the Mehrauli constituency, received support from BJP MP Anurag Thakur during his Vijay Sankalp Yatra. Thakur criticised the AAP-led government for failing to improve basic infrastructure in Delhi. “The condition of Delhi has become such that there are no clean drains, no clean water from taps, no fresh air and there is garbage everywhere. Even the Yamuna is polluted,” he said.
The NDA ally, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), also saw its candidate, Deepak Tanwar, file his nomination from the Deoli Assembly constituency. Expressing gratitude to LJP national president Chirag Paswan, Tanwar said, “This responsibility brings immense pride to our community. We assure our national president that the entire public is with us and stands firmly in support of his leadership.”
In the Congress camp, Ragini, the party candidate from Wazirpur, criticised both the AAP and BJP. She pointed out the rising salaries of Delhi’s legislators while accusing the ruling parties of neglecting the public’s needs. “These fake leaders, who have been given the title of ‘Delhi’s rulers’, have increased the salaries of their legislators fourfold. Yet, they claim they have no money for pensions. They spend Rs 33 crore on decorating their Sheesh Mahal, while ordinary people suffer,” Nayak remarked.
