Car driven by minor claims toddler’s life

The police got information that a child was hit by a car on the Firni Road, Mukhmelpur, at 8:20 am on Saturday. The police reached the spot and found the offending vehicle at the spot.
“According to local residents, the injured child, identified as Arjun, alias Yash, a resident of Mukhmelpur, was already taken to a hospital in Narela by his uncle Pardeep Kumar,” officials said.
Meanwhile, the hospital authorities confirmed that the child had been brought dead. The cause of death was stated as accidental head injury.
The police apprehended the 15-year-old boy, who was driving the car, and his 23-year-old brother, who is the owner of the vehicle, residents of Ibrahim Pur village in Delhi.
A case was registered under Sections 281 and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 3/181 and 5/181 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
“Legal action is being initiated against the minor driver and the owner of the vehicle,” said DCP (Outer North) Nidhin Valsan.
