Delhi recorded its coldest morning of the season on Thursday so far, with minimum temperature dropping to 18.1°C. With a dip in temperature, the air quality also worsened. Six monitoring stations in the city reported ‘very poor’ air quality levels.

This marks a notable shift from earlier this week, when Delhi’s temperature first fell below 20°C on Friday, signaling the onset of the winter season.

Data shows that in 2024, Delhi’s mercury dropped to 18.6°C on October 12, while in 2023, the city recorded a low of 18.3°C as early as October 3.
