City residents woke up to a pleasant morning with cool winds on Tuesday. In its morning bulletin, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted generally cloudy skies throughout the day, with light to moderate rain accompanied by gusty winds of 30-40 kmph, occasionally touching 50 kmph during thunderstorms.

The showers brought much-needed respite from the scorching heat, with the minimum temperature recorded at 28.2°C, just 0.2°C above normal. The maximum temperature is expected to stay between 34°C and 36°C, according to the weather office.

The yellow alert, which remains in effect until June 25, signals the need to “be aware” of potentially impactful weather conditions, especially during evening and night hours when storm activity is likely to peak.

The city is also expected to see mostly cloudy skies over the next seven days, with no heat wave conditions in the forecast. Relative humidity was measured at 79% at 8:30 am.
