Class 10 students relieved after easy English paper as CBSE exams begin

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations for Classes 10 and 12 commenced on Saturday, with around 42 lakh students from over 8,000 schools across India and abroad taking their first exams. The exams, held between 10:30 am and 1:30 pm, were conducted at 7,842 centres in India and 26 locations abroad.

Class 10 students appeared for the English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature) papers, while Class 12 students sat for the Entrepreneurship exam. Security measures were stringent at all centres, with strict checks in place and the use of mobile phones and electronic devices was prohibited.

As students exited the exam centres, many were visibly relieved and happy, with several expressing how manageable they found the English paper. Aryan, a Class 10 student, described the paper as “easy to average” in difficulty, adding that it was “balanced for all types of students” and based entirely on the NCERT syllabus.

Muskan, a fellow student, shared, "The paper was easy. I knew everything, but it was a bit lengthy. I was nervous going in, but once I saw the paper, I was relieved."

Mehak echoed similar thoughts, explaining, "Initially, I was worried about the paper, but once I saw it, all my worries went away."

Alam, another Class 10 student, agreed, saying, “The paper was easy to moderate. Anyone who has studied a little would be able to attempt the questions easily.” Aarav, another student, felt confident about the exam. “It went well. Now, I’m preparing for the real challenge—the Science exam next.”

As students left, they were seen chatting with friends and sharing light-hearted moments.
