The FIR was lodged at the Govindpuri police station, with further investigation underway. A senior police officer stated that Atishi, accompanied by 50-70 supporters and 10 vehicles, had gathered at Fateh Singh Marg, violating MCC guidelines. When instructed to disperse, the group allegedly obstructed a police officer from performing his duties.

In response to the FIR, Atishi took to social media, accusing the EC of succumbing to pressure from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In a post on X, she wrote, “The Election Commission is under pressure from the BJP. Ramesh Bidhuri and his family members are openly resorting to hooliganism, yet no action is taken against them. But an FIR is registered against me for campaigning!”
