The visit was part of the Delhi Government’s larger initiative to promote urban greenery, environmental sustainability and citizen-friendly public spaces. The CM also linked the cleanliness initiative, ‘Delhi Ko Kude Se Azadi’, to the development of these parks, calling it a people-driven movement.

She also urged all departments to execute development work swiftly, maintaining high standards of quality.

During her inspection, the CM directed the rejuvenation of water bodies inside both parks to preserve ecological balance and enhance their visual appeal. She also called for the immediate repair of broken gym equipment and the restoration of the non-functional musical fountain.

To ensure safety and improve infrastructure, the CM ordered reconstruction of park gates, repairs to boundary walls, renovation of security grills and upgradation of lighting systems. She instructed the officials to remove illegal encroachments, fix public restrooms, install safe drinking water facilities and redevelop shopping kiosks.

In an effort to make parks more inclusive and accessible, Gupta called for the addition of benches, tables and improved signage and directional boards. She also asked for yoga platforms to be repaired and police patrolling to be increased to ensure visitor safety.

She directed the officials that murals carrying cleanliness and environmental messages be painted on park walls to foster awareness and inspire behavioural change.

In Shalimar Bagh’s BF Block, the CM also inaugurated development works worth Rs 15 lakh, which included newly constructed footpaths, upgraded lighting and beautification elements.
