Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta celebrated Raksha Bandhan on Thursday with an event involving children from government-run primary schools across the capital. The celebration took place at the Chief Minister’s Seva Sadan and brought together enthusiastic students from Delhi Government, Central Government and MCD schools.

The atmosphere was festive and joyful as children tied colourful rakhis on the Chief Minister’s wrist, symbolising love, trust and protection. In return, CM Gupta offered them gifts and expressed gratitude for their presence. “Thank you for making this occasion so special,” she told the children.

Reflecting on the significance of the festival, Gupta said, “Raksha Bandhan represents the sacred bond and enduring trust between brothers and sisters. This being my first Raksha Bandhan as Chief Minister makes it all the more meaningful.”

She also underscored the broader message of the festival, linking it to civic responsibility. “It is our duty to protect our values, families and society. My commitment is to build a capital that is safe, clean, gree and truly ‘Viksit’ (developed),” she said.
