The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) has intensified its outreach at the grassroots level under the ongoing ‘Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan’, with meetings held across all 258 blocks of the Capital on June 2-3.

Led by DPCC president Devender Yadav, the meetings saw party workers take a pledge to expose what they called the “failures and betrayals” of the BJP government during its first 100 days in office.

Yadav said the monthly block-level meetings have become an effective forum to activate booth-level cadres and engage directly with public concerns.

“Congress workers are energised and are actively engaging with citizens to highlight the non-performance of the BJP’s triple-engine government and the 11 years of misrule under AAP,” he said.

The meetings were attended by Congress district and block presidents, former MLAs, municipal councillors, ex-councillors, observers and functionaries from various party cells and departments. Yadav said these gatherings had enabled party units to seek inputs and suggestions from the ground for future organisational strategy.

The DPCC president accused the Rekha Gupta-led BJP government in Delhi of “betraying voters” by failing to deliver on promises made during the municipal elections. He alleged that the BJP, in coordination with the DDA and the MCD, has been conducting demolition drives in JJ clusters and targeting street vendors without offering any rehabilitation.

Calling the BJP’s governance “autocratic and insensitive”, Yadav urged Congress workers to not only strengthen the party’s base but also focus on helping people resolve their day-to-day problems.

He highlighted the role of Rajiv Gandhi Jan Seva Kendras in liaising with government departments to assist the public and said more such centres would be opened in every district.

Yadav also flagged Congress’s ongoing anti-drug campaign “Nashe Ke Virudh-Congress Ka Yudh” as a key part of its public outreach programme, stating that the drive is being sustained across various neighbourhoods.
