At a time when the AAP and the BJP are sparring over promises of 200 units of free electricity, the Congress has announced that it would provide 400 units of free power to all Delhi residents if it came to power. Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav criticised the AAP’s past promises, calling them “deceptive”, and vowed to halt what he described as the “loot” by DISCOMs (power distribution companies), which had been inflating bills and overcharging consumers.

Addressing participants during the ‘Delhi Nyay Yatra’ at Mubarakpur in Kirari Assembly, Yadav said, “The Congress will provide 400 units of free power to the people of Delhi, unlike Kejriwal’s fake promises of free power and water, which only deceived the people. We will stop the DISCOMs’ loot by enforcing strict regulations and ensuring power bills are fair.”
