Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav today denounced recent provocative statements made by some BJP leaders, emphasising that in a democracy, there is no place for violence or incitement. He asserted that such rhetoric undermined national unity and peace.

“Congress believes in democracy, and in a democracy, there is no place for violence or provocative statements meant to incite unrest,” Yadav said. “These statements reflect a narrow outlook and aim to destabilise the country.”

Yadav criticised the BJP leaders for making inflammatory remarks against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. “These provocative statements are intended to create unrest and division among people, which is unacceptable," he added. “Such language poisons the minds of the public and threatens societal harmony.”

Yadav defended Rahul's recent comments during his visit to the US, stating, “Rahul Gandhi has consistently expressed that he harbors no ill will towards BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His focus remains on promoting compassion and dialogue rather than conflict.”

Yadav praised Rahul's efforts, including the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, a 6,300 km journey from Assam to Maharashtra, aimed at advocating for justice and support for the underprivileged. “Even in challenging times, Rahul fights for the upliftment and justice for the poor and marginalised,” he remarked.

Addressing the BJP, Yadav asked, “Will the BJP leaders condone such divisive statements and protect those who make them, or will they take decisive action against such provocations?”

The Congress party, according to Yadav, remains resolute in its mission to safeguard the rights of the marginalised and uphold the Constitution amidst attempts to sow discord.
