The Delhi Congress launched an ambitious campaign on Tuesday with the flagging off five LED vans, which will tour all 70 Assembly constituencies across the city. The initiative aims to spread the party’s five guarantees and highlight the failures of the AAP and the BJP governments in Delhi over the past decade.

Former Delhi Minister Narendra Nath flagged off the vans, which are designed to inform voters about Congress’ promises, particularly focusing on the stalled development under the Kejriwal administration. The tagline displayed on the vans, “10 saal se ruke vikas ko aage badane ke liye Congress hai jaruri” (Congress is necessary to take forward the development that has been stalled for 10 years), sets the tone for the campaign.

The LED vans are equipped with videos that graphically depict the failures of both Kejriwal and Modi governments, focusing on issues such as corruption, deteriorating civic services and the state of broken roads. The visuals will also highlight how both leaders abandoned the people of Delhi during the Covid-19 pandemic, while simultaneously building lavish projects.

The vans will carry messages about the five guarantees outlined by the Congress, which include Pyari Didi Yojna providing Rs 2,500 to women, Rs 25-lakh free health insurance scheme for all residents, Rs 8,500 per month stipend for educated, unemployed youth and two additional guarantees that the party plans to announce. The campaign will also emphasise the promises fulfilled in Congress-ruled states across the country.

The LED vans are expected to reach every corner of Delhi, engaging directly with voters and aiming to draw a stark contrast between the development promises made by the party and the perceived failures of the AAP and BJP governments.
