The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) has announced the formation of a five-member Coordination Committee and appointed 12 senior leaders as in-charges for the upcoming by-elections in 12 Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) wards. The announcement was made by Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav on Tuesday.

The newly formed five-member Coordination Committee would oversee the party’s strategy for the by-elections. The committee members include Narender Nath, Jatin Sharma, Rajesh Garg, Anuj Attrey and Hazi Zarif, who would play a pivotal role in coordinating election activities and ensuring the smooth execution of party plans.

In addition, 12 senior leaders have been appointed to take charge of the respective Municipal Corporation of Delhi wards where the by-elections would take place. The designated in-charges include Rohit Chaudhary for Mundka (Ward 35), Satender Sharma for Shalimar Bagh-B (Ward 56) and Parveen Bhugra for Ashok Vihar (Ward 65). Sharanjeet Sharma will oversee Chandni Chowk (Ward 74), while Jagjivan Sharma has been assigned to Chandni Mahal (Ward 76).

Other in-charges for the by-elections include Rajesh Yadav for Dwarka-B (Ward 120), JP Panwar for Dichaon Kalan (Ward 128), and Charanjeet Rai for Naraina (Ward 139). Chandrakant Giri would handle Sangam Vihar-A (Ward 163), Jai Prakash would manage Dakshin Puri (Ward 164), Neetu Verma Soin would oversee Greater Kailash (Ward 173), and Mujeeb Rehman would be responsible for Vinod Nagar (Ward 198).

A Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson said this strategic move aims to strengthen the party’s presence and streamline efforts for the upcoming by-elections.
