From January to October 2024, police data reveals that a total of 3,224 drivers were penalised for the same offence, with fines totalling Rs 1.61 crore.

“The Traffic Police, Gurugram, is actively checking drivers using mobile phones while driving and taking action as per rules to ensure safe, smooth and orderly traffic operations. These special checking campaigns will continue in the future as well,” said Virender Vij, DCP Traffic.

The Gurugram Traffic Police’s crackdown aims to promote safer driving practices and reduce the risk of accidents caused by distracted driving.
