Cricket betting racket busted, 14 nabbed

The Delhi police on Tuesday busted a cricket betting racket and arrested 14 persons in Paschim Vihar in West Delhi.
A police spokesperson said a team raided the premises and seized Rs. 2.21 crore in cash, mobile phones, currency counting machines and gambling paraphernalia.
Outer District Deputy Commissioner of Police Jimmy Chiram said, “During interrogation, it was revealed that the racket was being run by the kingpin, Ankit Goyal, who resides in Miya Wali Nagar, Paschim Vihar.”
The accused have been identified as Ankit Bansal (35), Mukesh Kumar (52), Nadeem (23), Gunjan Kumar, alias, Paras (29), Shashi Yadav (24), Gurvinder Singh (25), Gauri Shankar (62), Vimal (22), Achal Bansal (45), Sanjeev Kumar (45), Gulshan Sateeja (40), Deepak Singh (35), Rajesh (50) and Ankit Goyal, alias, Arjun Bansal (35). The arrested confessed to having committed the crime. — TNS
