CM Gupta was holding a ‘Jan Sunwai’ event at her residence in Civil Lines on Wednesday when she was attacked by a man from Gujarat, who posed as a complainant with a grievance.

During the interaction, the accused, identified as Rajeshbhai Khimjibhai Sakariya (41), approached the Chief Minister, presented some papers, then suddenly held her hand and tried to pull her hair. However, he was overpowered by the people. The Delhi Police have registered an attempt to murder case against the accused.

A person with ‘Z’ category protection is assigned 18 to 20 personnel, which include personal security officers, escorts and a pilot.
