Delhi BJP announces 105 state council members, 14 district presidents
The Delhi BJP on Monday announced the names of its newly elected 14 district presidents and 105 state council members, marking a major organisational reshuffle ahead of the upcoming civic and legislative battles. The announcement was made by Mahendra Nagpal, party’s organisational election officer for Delhi.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and expressed confidence that the new team would strengthen the party at the grassroots and ensure effective implementation of government policies.
Among the district presidents, Vijender Dhama (Mayur Vihar), Deepak Gaba (Shahdara), and Chandrapal Bakshi (West Delhi) have retained their positions, reflecting continuity in key districts. Four others — Arvind Garg (Chandni Chowk), Vinod Sahrawat (North West), Virendra Babbar (Karol Bagh), and Master Binod Kumar (Naveen Shahdara) — have been elected for a second term in their respective zones.
In a significant development, two women - Raj Sharma Gautam from Najafgarh and Maya Bisht from South Delhi - have been elected as district presidents for the first time in this cycle indicating the party’s push for greater gender representation in leadership roles.
The list of 105 newly elected state council members includes sitting MLAs such as Pawan Sharma, Kapil Mishra, Kailash Gahlot, Kartar Singh Tanwar, and Pradyumn Rajput, as well as senior party leaders like former MP Ramesh Bidhuri, former Mayor Subhash Arya, and several former councillors and state office-bearers including Sunita Kangra, Vinay Rawat, Naresh Kumar Airan, Sarika Jain, Dr Sumit Bhasin and Praveen Shankar Kapoor.
