The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) announced a protest and demonstration at the Jantar Mantar on Thursday to demand the formation of a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) to investigate the Hindenburg Research’s allegations against the Adani Group. The protest, which will take place from 10 am to 1 pm, will also highlight issues of unemployment and corruption, according to DPCC president Devender Yadav.

Yadav, speaking at a press conference alongwith Supriya Shrinate, Chairperson of AICC social media and digital platforms department, and former MLA Anil Bhardwaj, emphasised the need for a thorough investigation into the Modi government’s alleged role in protecting the Adani Group. “Only a JPC probe can unravel the Modi-led government’s effort to protect and help Adani become the richest,” Yadav asserted.

Yadav also criticised SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) Chairman Madhabi Puri Buch, accusing her of a conflict of interest due to her and her husband’s alleged stakes in Adani-group related entities through offshore investment funds. “Despite conflict of interest with the Adani group, the SEBI chief hasn’t bothered to resign,” Yadav said.

Addressing broader implications, Yadav argued that under the BJP government, economic inequality had worsened, with the rich getting richer at the expense of the poor.

Supriya, supporting Yadav’s stance, highlighted the importance of a JPC investigation to uncover the truth. “The Hindenburg report had questioned the integrity and impartiality of Madhabi Buch,” she said.
