A Delhi court on Monday sent Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain to 14-day judicial custody in a money laundering case. Earlier, Jain was under the custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Special Judge Geetanjli Goel posted Jain’s bail application for hearing on Tuesday at 11 am.

57-year-old senior AAP leader Jain was arrested on May 30 under various provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in a case in whichinvestigation has been going on since 2017.

Earlier, the Delhi High Court had on June 4 allowed the Enforcement Directorate’s plea against the special court’s order allowing the presence ofJain’s lawyers at a distance during his interrogation by the probe agency.

The agency had earlier provisionally attached assets worth Rs 4.81 crore ofJain’s family and companies “beneficially owned and controlled” by him as part of its probe against him.
