At many of the counting centres, celebrations erupted as BJP candidates registered victories over the AAP-Congress combine candidates.

BJP’s Praveen Khandelwal was initially trailing the Congress’ Jai Prakash Agarwal in the Chandni Chowk seat but later moved ahead to secure a win by a margin of 89,325 votes, the EC data showed.

The BJP’s North-East Delhi candidate Manoj Tiwari, who was pitted against the Congress’ Kanhaiya Kumar, won by a margin of 1,38,778 votes.

BJP West Delhi candidate Kamaljeet Sehrawat, who was up against AAP’s Mahabal Mishra, won by a margin of 1,99,013 votes, while BJP’s North-West Delhi candidate Yogender Chandoliya was leading against the Congress’ Udit Raj.

In the East Delhi seat, BJP’s Harsh Malhotra won after defeating AAP’s Kuldeep Kumar by a margin of 93,663 votes.

The BJP’s Ramvir Singh Bidhuri won by a margin of 1,24,333 votes against AAP’s Sahi Ram Pahalwan from South Delhi, while in the New Delhi constituency, BJP’s Bansuri Swaraj—daughter of late veteran leader Sushma Swaraj—won by a margin of 78,370 votes.

The BJP won all seven seats in Delhi in the 2014 and the 2019 general elections and repeated the feat for a third consecutive time.

In the 2024 elections, the Congress fielded candidates in three of the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi and AAP in four as part of a seat-sharing arrangement between the two INDIA bloc constituents.
