Delhi Govt to host mega job fair in July
In a major push to generate employment for Delhi’s youth, the Delhi Government is set to organise a mega job fair during the financial year 2025-26. Labour Minister Kapil Mishra held a high-level meeting on Thursday with officials of the Directorate of Employment to chalk out the strategy for the initiative, which is expected to be held in July.
The job fair, backed by budgetary provision in the 2025-26 fiscal plan, will provide a common platform for job-seeking youth and recruiting organisations to directly interact. The initiative aims to streamline employment efforts across departments and forge stronger ties with private and government institutions.
To ensure wide participation, the Directorate of Employment will reach out to major industry bodies including FICCI, DICCI, CII and PHD Chamber of Commerce. Educational and technical institutions under departments of Higher Education, Technical Education and Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) will also be roped in for data on job-seeking youth and student placements.
Minister Mishra directed officials to immediately begin collecting placement records and employer data from all relevant institutions. He also instructed that a coordination meeting be held next week to finalise logistics such as the venue, number of participants, invitations to employers and expected recruitment figures.
“The job fair will be a milestone step in ensuring dignified employment for Delhi’s youth and creating a robust network between educational institutions and industries,” Mishra said.
