In a bid to improve primary healthcare access in South Delhi, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Mayor Mahesh Kumar Khichi on Tuesday inaugurated the newly renamed Dr BR Ambedkar Polyclinic in Ward 155, Mehrauli. The facility will offer free consultations, diagnostic tests and medicines for minor ailments such as fever, cough, cold and diabetes.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mayor Khichi emphasised that the polyclinic, named after Babasaheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, would bring significant relief to residents struggling with rising medical expenses. “This polyclinic will be a great help for locals. All services, from doctor consultations to lab tests and medicines, will be provided completely free of cost,” he said. The Mayor said the facility, which earlier operated anonymously as an MCD Health Centre, now bore the name of a social justice icon and would function as a beacon of accessible healthcare.
