The chaos erupted when a rumour about a snake in the ladies’ coach spread, causing women to panic and scramble to get away. The train was immediately halted at Akshardham Metro Station, and all passengers were safely evacuated. Despite a thorough inspection of the coach and review of CCTV footage, no snake was found. However, a baby lizard was discovered during the inspection.

The video has gone viral on social media, with many users joking about the incident. Some have compared the Delhi Metro to a “wildlife safari”, while others have expressed concern about public safety in crowded spaces. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has urged passengers to remain vigilant and report any such concerns to Metro staff for prompt action.

Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director (Corporate Communications), DMRC, said, “Although the snake is not visible in the video, it is being purportedly claimed that a snake was spotted in a ladies’ coach. Immediate action was taken upon receiving the alert, and the train was vacated at the Akshardham Metro station and sent to the depot for thorough inspection.”
