New Delhi, July 6

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national Convener Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday announced that Delhi will host India’s “first and largest” citywide Shopping Festival from January 28 to February 26, 2023.

“People across the country and the world will be invited to the festival. Their shopping experience will encapsulate culture and tradition of Delhi, warmth and hospitality of Delhites,” Kejriwal said.

The government is confident the extravaganza will give a boost to Delhi’s economy. The traders and businessmen will get an opportunity to grow their business which will result in creation of large number of jobs.

Elaborating on the proposed event, he said exhibitions on spirituality, gaming, technology and health will be organised during the event.

Markets, shops and malls of Delhi will be facelifted. Products will be available at huge unmatched discounts.

“Top artistes from across the country and the world will perform in over 200 entertainment programmes in the Delhi Shopping Festival,” Kejriwal said.

He said there will be special food walks consisting of cuisines from all parts of country. Well-known restaurant and hotel from across the country will participate.

The Delhi government has initiated talks with hotels, travel agents and airlines to provide comfortable travel and lodging arrangements for people travelling from outside to Delhi Also, special packages will be offered to them.
