Delhi tourist killed in Himachal mishap, 3 hurt

A Delhi tourist was killed in a car accident, near Hull village in Spiti subdivision of Lahaul-Spiti district yesterday evening, while three others were injured. The deceased has been identified as Mohit Yadav (25), son of Vijender Yadav, a native of Delhi.
According to the police, the driver lost control over the car near Hull village in the Spiti region and it fell into a deep gorge. At the time of the accident, four persons were travelling in the car. While Mohit died on the spot, three others sustained grievous injuries. They were taken to the Rampur hospital in Shimla district. “The injured are Mohit Yadav, son of Rajesh Yadav of Delhi; Samir Sharma, son of Devender Kumar Sharma, and Barat John, aka Joni, son of Somveer John, both natives of Haryana. They are undergoing treatment and their condition is stated to be stable,” said a police officer.
A misjudgment of the road by the driver is said to be the cause of the accident. The police have registered a case under Sections 279 and 304 A of the IPC, and a probe is under way.
