DPCC chief Devender files nomination from Badli
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Devender Yadav on Wednesday filed his nomination papers for the Badli Assembly seat. He was accompanied by a large number of party workers and local residents.
Prominent figures such as Jharkhand Minister
for Panchayati Raj Dipika Pandey Singh, AICC national spokesperson Abhay Dubey and
Mumtaz Patel, daughter of late AICC treasurer Ahmed Patel, also accompanied him.
In his address, Yadav expressed gratitude for the continuous support from the people of Badli. He vowed to continue serving the constituency and urged people to for him in record numbers.
Taking on former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Yadav accuses him of making false promises over the past decade. He criticised Kejriwal for failing to deliver on key promises such as free water, free power and improved healthcare and education.
“People got dirty water, polluted air, sick hospitals and overflowing drains, while the promises of free power and water remained on paper,” said Yadav, highlighting the disparity between Kejriwal’s promises and the reality on the ground.
Yadav also pointed out that Kejriwal had failed to deliver on his pledge to provide Rs 1,000 to women in Punjab. He accused Kejriwal of misleading voters ahead of the upcoming elections.
Yadav assured the voters that the Congress, under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, had fulfilled its promises in states where the party was in power. He outlined the party’s plans for Delhi such as Rs 2,500 Pyari Didi Yojna, Rs 25 lakh health insurance for all, Rs 8,500 scholarship for educated unemployed youth and two more guarantees to be announced soon. He emphasised that improving law and order and ensuring safety for women would be among the top priorities.
Yadav expressed confidence that voters would elect him once again in the upcoming February 5 elections.
