During his visit, Pradhan held high-level meetings with senior UAE officials, interacted with students and faculty, and toured the campus facilities. The highlight was the launch of a BTech in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Energy and Sustainability. While the undergraduate programme will focus on sustainable manufacturing and modern engineering practices, the doctoral course aims to establish the campus as a hub for cutting-edge research on clean energy and decarbonisation.
Emphasising innovation, the Minister said, “Today marks an auspicious chapter for IIT Delhi – Abu Dhabi, as we inaugurate the Atal Incubation Centre and launch our PhD research programme. As Prime Minister Modi has urged our students, I invite you to research, innovate, and bring your ideas from level one to the market — not just for India and the UAE, but for humanity.”
IIT Delhi–Abu Dhabi, the first international campus of IIT Delhi, is a strategic initiative between India and the UAE to drive excellence in education and research in globally critical areas such as energy, sustainability and artificial intelligence.
