Sharing details, the officer said they received a PCR call about the incident following which a team from the Subhash Palace police station rushed to the spot.

“Two decomposed bodies of a man and a woman were found lying in two separate rooms of the flat,” the officer said, adding that the ligature marks indicated that they were strangulated to death.

He said an attendant, who also lived with the couple, is missing after the incident. “The attendant is missing and it seems that an attempt was made to break the locker containing cash and jewelry,” the officer said.

Preliminary inquiry revealed that Singh was last seen alive around 8 pm on Sunday. The officer said prime facie it seems that the couple was murdered on Sunday night. However, the exact time of their death would only be ascertained in the autopsy report.

Forensic teams of the Delhi Police and FSL, Rohini, examined the crime spot and collected all crucial exhibits from the spot. The police registered an FIR and formed multiple teams to trace the prime suspect, who is currently absconding.

According to the son of the deceased, the attendant was appointed recently as his father was suffering from Parkinson’s disease. “The attendant used to take my father to washroom at night and slept in his room,” he said, demanding justice for his parents.
