Another official said a detailed report was awaited but stressed the preliminary findings suggest the woman was immunocompromised. He stressed that there was no need to panic.

This is the first fatality in the Capital amid the current surge in coronavirus cases.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday said 19 Covid patients were hospitalised in Delhi, but there was no need to worry. The Delhi Government was alert and hospitals were prepared to deal with any eventuality, she had said.
