In his letter, Singh appreciated the tributes paid to Chaudhary Brahm Parkash, Delhi’s first Chief Minister, by the Speaker recently and said such gestures bring long-overdue recognition to key public figures who played an important role in shaping Delhi’s political legacy post-Independence.
“People are very happy that you have given proper tributes to Chaudhary Brahm Parkash...We must give proper publicity to all those stalwarts who, soon after Independence of the country, came forward in public life,” Singh stated.
He reminded the Speaker that Gurmukh Nihal Singh served as the first Speaker of the Delhi Assembly and later held the office of the Chief Minister, emphasising that his contributions deserved prominent acknowledgment within the Assembly.
