According to the Delhi Fire Service, the Fire Department received a call about the blaze at 10.01 am. After getting information, five fire tenders were pressed into service. Visuals from the site showed the building in Sector 13’s Shapath Society engulfed in flames with people below gathered in balconies and crying for help.

Two children - a boy and a girl, both aged between 10 and 12 - jumped from their balcony in an apparent attempt to escape the blaze. They were rushed to a hospital where doctors declared them dead on arrival. Their father, Yash Yadav (35), also jumped from the balcony. He also succumbed to his injuries.

Yadav was a local businessman involved in the flex board industry. His wife and another relative, who were present in the flat at the time of the incident, managed to escape the fire with minor injuries. They were rushed to IGI Hospital where their condition is stated to be stable,” the officer said.
