BJP’s South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri on Tuesday alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Atishi violated the model code of conduct by using Public Works Department (PWD) vehicles to transport election campaign materials.

At a press conference, Bidhuri presented a video in which BJP official KS Duggal allegedly caught the act on January 8, with a PWD vehicle being used to transport materials for Atishi’s campaign.

Accompanied by BJP state spokesperson Shubhendu Shekhar Awasthi and Election Commission Liaison Department Coordinator Sanket Gupta, Bidhuri demanded a response from Atishi over the alleged misuse of government resources for her political gain. The BJP officials lodged a complaint with the Election Commission, which, after investigation confirmed the allegations, leading to the filing of an FIR against Atishi.

Bidhuri further accused AAP candidates across Delhi of engaging in similar misconduct, saying, “Our officials caught the PWD vehicle used by Atishi for transporting her campaign materials.” He asked Atishi to clarify the incident, demanding that she withdraw her nomination and resign from her position as the Chief Minister.

Sanket Gupta emphasised that such violations of the model code of conduct are a serious offense, with the Election Commission treating them as a matter of utmost importance. He said the act was carried out on the direct orders of Atishi. PWD engineer Sanjay Kumar was allegedly pressured to execute it.
