The Fire Department will deploy 24 quick reaction vehicles at Mehrauli, Lajpat Nagar central market, Sonia Vihar, Main bazaar Paharganj, Khari bawli, Sadar Bazar and Pul Bangash Azad Market.

“All officers/officials concerned are directed to ensure that the deployed vehicles, along with crew, are in position by 5 pm sharp,” the order said, stressing punctuality and operational readiness. It further instructed divisional and station officers to “ensure proper supervision and liaison with local police for smooth movement and operation” of vehicles during the deployment.

Last year, the city saw a surge of 53 per cent in fire-related calls on Diwali. However, no major causalities were reported in such incidents. Last year, the department received 320 fire-related calls on October 31 and 400 calls on November 1.
