Kalkaji residents Amar Preet Singh and Suman Jeet Singh said they own four shops of school uniforms in the market. “We closed our shops around 9.30 pm and went home. Around 11.30 pm, we were informed that a fire had broken out in our shops,” said Amar.
A police official said the fire started on the ground floor and quickly spread to the first and second floors, which house four additional shops and one hall on each floor. 25 fire tenders were dispatched to douse the fire, while its cause is yet to be determined.
