Four killed, two injured in fire at four-storey building

A total of four deaths have been confirmed so far. Two of them have been identified as Anita (38) and Satender (38), while two others are yet to be identified.
A 40-year-old woman, Mamta, who sustained 25 per cent burn injuries, has been shifted to a hospital. The identity of another injured person is yet to be established, the officials mentioned.
A PCR call regarding the blaze was received around 6.24 pm. When the police reached the spot, they found the building engulfed in flames, with the fire believed to have originated from a footwear shop on the ground floor, a police official said.
“Two injured women were rescued and rushed to hospital. Satender, alias Jimmy (38), was the owner of the building,” the police said.
The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) said the fire was extinguished at 7.55 pm.
“Two charred bodies were found on the ground floor, while two injured persons were rescued from the building and shifted to a hospital before the arrival of the fire engines,” the DFS said.
Further investigation is on ascertain the exact cause of the fire.
