New Delhi, August 8

Despite it being a weekday, the Delhi Book Fair was bustling with energy as visitors flocked to explore its diverse array of books on Thursday. Residents brought their children, college students arrived straight from their classes, and even schoolchildren were seen eagerly navigating the aisles.

The book fair, though smaller in scale compared to the World Book Fair held earlier in the year at Bharat Mandapam, excels in offering a curated selection of books rather than a vast number of publishers. This focus on the quality of the books rather than the quantity of publications was appreciated by many attendees.

Soumya, a Delhi resident, said, “Compared to the World Book Fair, the number of publications here is limited. However, I still managed to find the thrillers I was looking for, thanks to the many resellers present. I’m a huge fan of thrillers, and I was delighted to find some great titles.”

She added, “Even though it was a weekday, the fair was bustling. Many stalls were overcrowded, which meant I had to wait a bit. But overall, the experience was very enjoyable. I love to read, and the fair was packed with books.”

Kusum, who is new to the world of reading, shared her initial impressions of the fair. “This is only my second time at a book fair. My friends had recommended several books to me. Even though I don’t read a lot, I’m excited to dive into these books and see if they spark a greater interest in reading,” she stated.

Ayesha, who attended the fair with her parents, expressed her satisfaction, saying, “I came with a list of specific books that I wanted. It took a while to locate the exact titles, but I’m thrilled to leave the fair with my favourites. The fair was well-organised, and finding the books I wanted was worth the effort.”

Shubhi, a college student who visited the fair right after her classes, praised the diversity of offerings, saying, “I’m a fan of thrillers and romantic comedies. The Delhi Book Fair never disappoints me with its variety and pricing. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking for affordable books or high-end editions. I always find something that fits my taste and budget.”
