Gas cylinder explodes at food cart, vendor booked

A purported video of the incident, which was captured by a commuter, went viral on social media. A loud noise followed by a fire on the cart caused panic in the area.
The police received information regarding a fire incident at a food cart through beat staff on Sunday evening, following which a team reached the spot.
It was transpired that the cylinder on the cart exploded due to heat. The fire was extinguished, and no injuries were reported in the incident, said an official.
The police said a case was already registered against the cart holder under Sections 83 and 97 (deal with public order and nuisance) of the Delhi Police Act on July 30. However, following the explosion, a fresh FIR under relevant sections of BNS had been registered.
