New Delhi, July 31
The Delhi Government on Wednesday issued guidelines for the safety of schoolkids following the flooding incident in Rajinder Nagar.
According to the guidelines issued by the Directorate of Education (DoE), both private and government-run schools must follow the provisions of the Master Plan for Delhi, 2021, regarding the use of basement in public buildings.
They must take all necessary steps to avoid waterlogging in and around premises. Besides, principals should ensure that the basements, if any, are used only for permissible activities.
All gates shall be functional and opened for entry and exit. The access to the basement shall be marked and indicated in the evacuation plan. — PTI
