Several resolutions were unanimously passed during the general meeting of the House of Municipal Corporation, Gurugram, held on Monday.
In the meeting, two members of the Finance and Contract Committee of the MCG were selected. These include Sundar Singh from Ward 1 and Anoop Singh from Ward 25. The chairperson of the committee is Mayor Rajrani Malhotra. The audit report for the financial year 2023-24 was placed in the House, and the expansion of the rainwater harvesting system was recommended during the discussion.
“The MCG is continuously working for the overall development of Gurugram and is implementing schemes giving priority to the needs of the citizens. Steps are being taken by the corporation in areas related to rainwater harvesting, sewerage management, improving drinking water supply and ensuring environmental protection. I appeal to the House members to promote public participation in their respective wards so that everyone’s active role can be ensured in the creation of a clean, safe and modern Gurugram. Benefits of the corporation’s schemes will be maximised only when the commoners actively participate in these initiatives,” said Mayor Raj Rani Malhotra.
“The MCG is constantly striving to strengthen the infrastructure of the city and improve civic amenities. Forty areas have been identified by the Sewerage Monitoring Cell, where permanent solution to sewerage-related problems will be found in a phased manner by April 2026. Special attention is being paid to transparency and quality in the developmental and corrective works being carried out by the corporation,” said MCG Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya.
