Initiating disciplinary action, Gurugram MC Commissioner Ashok Kumar Garg has recommended to the Government of Haryana to suspend an Assistant Engineer Deepak Kumar of the civic body posted in Zone-2 on charges of dereliction in duty, poor performance and not performing his duty satisfactorily.

In the orders issued on Tuesday evening, the Commissioner stated that he was required to attend an important meeting with regard to the removal of encroachments from public places, but he did not attend the meeting deliberately without any prior intimation to his superior authority.

The Commissioner further stated he was not attending his office regularly, did not attend to public grievances/complaints and consistently ignored the official phone calls.

Ashok Garg added that his behaviour indicated a wilful disregard to his official duty and clear violation of the Haryana Civil Services Conduct rules. His continued non-compliance in not carrying out the legitimate orders of his superior authority also amounted to gross misconduct, the orders stated.
