Police Commissioner Vikas Kumar Arora received the ISO/IEC certificate on Thursday from Arunendra Dwivedi, Managing Director of SIS Certification, at the Police Commissioner’s office. On the occasion, Commissioner Arora emphasised the importance of creating a system within organisations where work is automatically completed in accordance with established procedures, ensuring consistency even when personnel change. He stated, “ISO prepares a similar platform, through which tasks will be completed automatically as per the system.”

According to a spokesperson from the Gurugram police, the certification process involved a comprehensive audit by SIS Certification teams. The audit thoroughly assessed the office’s information security policies, risk management strategies and operational controls. This certification further strengthens the trust among stakeholders and sets a benchmark for other law enforcement agencies aiming to improve their information security systems.

The scope of the certification for the Gurugram Police Commissioner’s Office includes critical functions such as arms license management, the foreigner registration office (FRO), the public helpline, background verification, women’s safety, cyber security, and senior citizen welfare. This certification is expected to improve the efficiency and safety of these essential services.
