A gym owner and a jeweller reportedly received extortion calls in the Nangloi and Rohini areas, respectively. The caller demanded Rs 2 crore from the gym owner, allegedly in the name of gangster Deepak Boxer. According to a complaint filed at the Nangloi police station, the call, made from an international number on November 7, is currently under investigation by the police.

Meanwhile, the jeweller received a threatening call demanding protection money from an individual claiming to be a member of the Kala Jathedi gang. During the investigation, the jeweller told the police that the first call, made on November 6, was received by his wife, in which the caller threatened her and demanded extortion money. A second call was received on November 7, again demanding money and threatening severe consequences for the jeweller and his wife.

The jeweller recorded the caller’s conversation, a video of which has surfaced and gone viral on social media.

“In the recorded conversation the jeweller’s wife could be heard pleading before the caller, saying that their family did not have money and was in debt,” said the police.

These incidents follow a series of violent acts, including two shootings on November 5 outside shops in Nangloi and Alipur, allegedly by Gogi gang, and another on November 7 by the Nandu Gang of Kapil Sangwan in Paschim Vihar.
