HC grants regular bail plea to wrestler Sushil Kumar in murder case

Kumar meanwhile has been lodged in Tihar jail since 2021, following his arrest.
Justice Sanjeev Narula granted bail to the wrestler on a bail bond of Rs. 50,000 and two sureties of like amount.
He was previously granted interim bail for a week for knee surgery. In October 2022, charges were framed against Kumar and 17 others in the case.
Sagar was a trainee at Chhatrasal Stadium, succumbed to injuries after he and his friends were brutally assaulted by Sushil Kumar and other accused.
According to the post-mortem report, Dhankar suffered cerebral damage from the impact of a blunt object.
The trial court, while framing charges, found a prima facie case for murder, noting that the victims were abducted, brought to the stadium, and subjected to severe beatings using sticks, baseball bats, and hockey sticks.
