Universities in Delhi registered a mixed performance in the QS World University Rankings Sustainability-2026. The national capital’s institutions demonstrated strong gains in some areas, while the need for a deeper focus in a few others was highlighted.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, remained the top performer from India, securing the 205th global rank with a sustainability score of 83.1. Although it slipped from last year’s top 200 bracket.

Delhi University (DU) was Delhi’s biggest climber this year, marking a significant improvement in its overall performance. DU rose from the 299th to the 241st spot globally, a jump of 58 places, earning it a position among the top four institutions in India and the top 36 in Asia.
