According to the IMD, the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to reach 35 and 24°C, respectively.
Meanwhile, the water level of the Yamuna, which had remained above the danger mark for a week, has started to recede due to reduced rainfall upstream. However, large areas of the Yamuna floodplains remain submerged. Hundreds of residents displaced by the flooding have been relocated to government-run relief camps over the past week.
At 9 am, Delhi’s Air Quality Index was recorded at 79, which falls in the ‘satisfactory’ category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation in Delhi-NCR, as the region braces for more thundershowers while managing the aftermath of the recent floods.
