New Delhi: A Delhi Police head constable allegedly shot himself on Tuesday at his house here, with his family members saying he was suffering from depression, according to the police. They said Vikas (38) allegedly ended his life at his house in Police Colony in the Jyoti Nagar area around midnight. He had a gunshot injury on head, a senior police officer said, adding he was not reporting for duty since Friday. A country-made pistol, one live and one used bullet were found from the spot, the officer said.

24-yr-old killed over old feud

New Delhi: A 24-year-old electrician died after he was allegedly stabbed in the thigh by a man over an old enmity in East Delhi’s Kalyanpuri area. The incident took place at 18 Block, Kalyan Puri, on Sunday. On September 1, the police received information that a man named Rohit has been admitted to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital with a stab wound, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Apoorva Gupta said. He was later referred to GTB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday. Accused Amit was arrested and the weapon used in the crime was recovered at his instance.

Helpdesk for Housing Scheme

New Delhi: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has established a registration helpdesk at its head office here for its Housing Scheme 2024, according to a statement issued on Tuesday. Depending on the footfall and demand, the DDA may open similar help desks at other locations too.
