Faridabad: A pedestrian died after he was run over by a tanker on the Sohna road in Sector 55 on Tuesday. The police have arrested the accused, who was driving the tanker carrying sewage. The deceased was identified as Brij Mohan (30), who hailed from Farrukhabad in UP. He was working in a private company and residing in a rented accommodation in Sanjay Colony. The incident took place when he was on his way to work. TNS

Kidney patient stabbed by son

New Delhi: A man (54) was stabbed by his son at Vishnu Garden Extension in Khyala around 11 pm on Monday. A quarrel between Raj Kumar Rattan and his son, Sachin Rattan (29), over latter’s alcohol addiction and unemployment allegedly escalated to violence. The police said, “The father-son duo had a heated argument, during which Sachin attacked his father with a knife.” TNS

Metro to start at 4 am tomorrow

New Delhi: Metro services in Delhi will begin at 4 am on August 15 from all terminal stations to facilitate people to attend the Independence Day ceremony. The train services will be available at a frequency of 15 minutes on all lines till 6 am. TNS
